津田塾大学 学外学修・キャリアセンター

Welcome to the Center for Off-campus Learning and Career Support at Tsuda University!

Going beyond a boundary is rooted in the spirit of Tsuda University. Umeko Tsuda, the founder, was one of the first Japanese women to study abroad. This experience was at the core of her determination to empower Japanese women and led her to establish this school, one of the first private institutions of higher education for women in Japan, in 1900.

In 2016, the university established the Off-Campus Learning Center to support students’ off-campus and experiential learning activities, such as internship, volunteering and study abroad. Since its establishment, the center has helped more than 1,200 students to learn actively outside classrooms. Their experiences had a positive impact on students’ career prospects, and Tsuda alumni have become self-motivated and proactive in various career fields.

To step further, Tsuda university integrates two centers, the off-campus learning center and the career center, into the center for off-campus learning and career support in 2024. The integration enables seamless support for students throughout their university life, by connecting their experiential achievements with their pursuit for a career after their graduation.
